Pets in Glen Cove, Nassau County and surrounding areas have just gained a comfy new home away from home care of local pet care company Dan’s Pet Care. The organization just recently opened its 24/7 cage-free boarding and daycare facility, which features spacious indoor and outdoor play areas, round-the-clock staff, and an on-call veterinarian.
Sanitation processes at the center are regular and rigorous, and all team members have received CPR and pet first aid training, reports Long Island Business News. Additional services the center offers include grooming, training, and flexible pickup services with a dedicated pet taxi.
Dan’s Pet Care began in 2009 as a simple pet walking service that CEO and founder Daniel Reitman ran out of his parents’ basement. After dropping out of college, Reitman worked at Manhasset Animal Hospital for a few years before proceeding to start the business, which has grown far beyond his initial expectations over the last 14 years.
According to Reitman, Dan’s Pet Care now has over 80 employees and serves more than 3,500 clients. The company’s immediate goals include expanding services into Suffolk and Nassau Counties, Queens, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. They also hope to reopen in Connecticut in the near future.
How to Prep Your Pet for a Stay at the Dog Hotel
While no pet parent likes to be away from their beloved dog or cat for very long, the ready availability of services like doggy daycares and pet hotels at least gives you a means of making sure that your furry friend will be well cared for in your absence.
Before you embark on your next trip, make sure your pet is well-prepared for their stay at your chosen boarding facility. Packing familiar items like their favorite wholesale dog toys or personalized puppy blankets, for instance, can alleviate the stress of an unfamiliar environment and help them get comfortable faster.
